Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman. The Corcoran Group, an NY-based real estate broker was started by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then left the business. Corcoran is one of ABC’s original Shark Tank investors. As of now she has appeared on each seasons of Shark Tank. In February 2020 Corcoran was involved in 53 deals, the biggest being a $350,000 deal that included 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second of 10 children from a family of Irish Catholics who worked hard, was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence was her mother. She was an exemplary household worker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr., her father, was constantly changing jobs throughout Corcoran's entire life. Sometimes, the family relied upon deliveries of food that was free from a friendly local grocer. Corcoran claims her father was drunk who treated her mother with disrespectful and sarcastic remarks. Corcoran was a struggle in school and was eventually diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran started high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after she had left her Catholic elementary school. After failing several classes during her freshman year, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School in Leonia, where she received a grade of D.
